Medico-Legal (Solicitors only)

If you are a solicitor and would like to discuss a legal psychiatric matter, please note the following, Dr Daniel Varghese:

 

▪ Provides expert opinions for the Family Court or Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

▪ Will only provide expert opinions if the referral is from an appointed Independent Children's Lawyer OR there are joint instructions from both parties.

▪ Does not interview children and does not provide "family reports".

▪ Does not do independent medical assessments.

▪ The average turnaround for a report is 4 to 6 weeks from the date of the last appointment, provided instructions and documentation is provided in a timely manner. Please let the office know at time of booking if you require the report sooner

▪ Fees are $500/hour + GST. As a guide:
- 1 party assessment - 6 hours
- 2 party assessment - 8 hours
- 3 party assessment is -12 hours
Depending on the amount of material included in the instructions, extra fees may be applicable.
